What We Do

What We Do

Sometimes referred to as “comfort care,” palliative care is a specialized approach to the treatment of patients with a serious or life-threatening illness. The goal of palliative care is to provide relief from the symptoms, pain and stress of serious illness. It is also designed to improve the quality of life of both the patient and the patient’s family.

We provide 24x7 365 days of palliative home care. Kozhikode is distinct in being the only district which provides 24x7 home care in India and one of the very few world-wide. Our wholesome care services to all our registered patients include:

  • To all those patients who are registered with us a team consisting of a doctor, nurse and volunteers visits them at home and provides nursing care.
  • We have a strong base of around 40 volunteers who are trained to identify and provide assistance to the patients.
  • To those needy patients who require airbeds, cots, wheel chairs, crutches, walking sticks, commode etc are provided free of cost.
  •  To those who are reduced to utter poverty and helplessness due to these crippling conditions we provide food kits, every month.
  • Hold awareness classes for the general public to gather massive community participation.
  • Extend training to volunteers who are interested in working with us and the patients.
  • We also extend emotional support to the patients and their family members to understand them and their needs better and also get to know what more we can do for them.
  • All this is possible due to the compassion and the donations we receive from well meaning and kind hearted people.
