Sparsham Palliative Care Society focuses on providing and maintaining the highest quality of life of the individual — often living with a life-threatening disease — and their family, who is usually the primary caregivers of the individual. Our goal of palliative care is to identify and treat — as early as possible — the symptoms and side effects of the disease. Unlike a one-size-fits-all solution, our services focuses on the specific person as a whole (i.e. person-centred care) and considers their physical, psychosocial and spiritual well-being as well.

Gone are the days when those suffering from cancer, stroke, parkinsonism, age related diseases and the bedridden were left to fend for themselves or be resigned to their fate. There has been a profound change in the mind-set of the people after experiencing the sincere and selfless service rendered by the palliative movement. Only open-minded and compassionate people can relate to the misery and suffering of fellow beings.

When sickness wrecks the patient and their families both mentally and financially they are unable to face the calamity on their own. This is where the society has a significant role to play. Your love and support goes a long way in helping them lead a life of hope and dignity which is their right rather than our charity.

We are striving to identify each and every person in our area who is in need of care and reach out to them immediately on calls and in emergency, even at odd hours. Over and above providing nursing and doctor's care a support group visits these families to provide the much needed emotional upliftment for the patient and their caretakers. We have more than three hundred and fifty patients who require to be visited personally and given nursing care and support.
